The next season of the 2022 Apertura of Mexican football will have a new member in the Expansion League, the Club Atlético La Paz. In an official statement, Grupo Orlegi announced the purchase of the Tampico Madero franchise to make it the new team that will play in the next official tournament of the BBVA MX League.
The team that will compete in the Second Professional Division of Mexico will migrate to La Jaiba Brava to the capital of Baja California Sur to promote the dissemination of football in the entity and continue with Grupo Orlegi's goal of giving the opportunity to the youth of the entity.
