CJNG arms dealer and Northeast Cartel sentenced to 12 years in jail

The US Ambassador to Mexico, Ken Salazar, celebrated the sentence imposed on one of his fellow citizens and reiterated his collaboration with Mexican authorities

Andrew Scott Pierson, a trafficker and gunsmith with the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) and the Northeast Cartel (CDN), was sentenced to 12 years behind bars, after pleading guilty to benefiting Mexican criminal organizations.

According to the Department of Justice report, the sentence was imposed by Judge Brian S. Miller in the Eastern District of Arkansas court, five months after the Oklahoma resident accepted his responsibilities.

Ken Salazar, US ambassador to Mexico, celebrated that one of his fellow citizens was punished for conspiracy to violate the Arms Export Control Act. For the government of Andrés Manuel López Obrador has pursued a crusade against those who empower the cartels' firepower.
