
When cleaning up the Jaboque wetland, which is located in the town of Engativá in western Bogotá, workers from the Aqueduct and Sewer Company found the lifeless body of a man.
Faced with the macabre finding, which occurred on Wednesday, officials notified the Police Quadrant in that area of the city to deal with the case, which once on the site also contacted the Attorney General's Office to carry out the respective procedure for the removal of the body, as they reported on the Alerta Bogotá radio station.
According to the investigating body, the deceased showed stab wounds to the head and had his throat cut, they reported on the Blu Radio station.
Meanwhile, the RCN Radio station indicated that the authorities established that he was a citizen of Venezuela, who since April 18 had been reported missing and that his name was Gabriel Jesús Guanipa Delgado, 22 years old.
In the magazine Semana they stated that the victim was from Creolandia, Los Taques municipality of Falcón State, in the neighboring country and had been last seen in the Viña del Mar neighborhood, in the town of Engativá.
“So many broken dreams. Leave your country to have more opportunities and this happens”, they collected from what the relatives said in the newspaper Nuevo Día.
In Bogotá Alerta, they added that the man was known in that sector of the city as he distributed water and at the same time consumed narcotics, although he had no judicial record, they highlighted on the news portal Minuto 30.
The body was transferred to the National Institute of Legal Medicine where they will carry out the respective forensic analyzes to establish the causes of the death of the Venezuelan citizen, they added on that station.
This grim discovery is in addition to that of another body they found over the weekend in the vicinity of 26th Street with 30th race.
According to the television news program Citynoticias, on the local channel City T.V., the Metropolitan Police of Bogotá confirmed the location of the body without life and according to accounts of some witnesses who informed the authorities, it would correspond to that of a man who was tied up.
Colonel Sandra Lancheros, commander of the police of the town of Teusaquillo, said in that news that the Criminal Investigation Section (Sijín) and the Attorney General's Office were in charge of the investigation into this case. While the body is already in Legal Medicine.
This is in addition to that of the location, last Palm Sunday, of two more bodies inside plastic bags in the vicinity of Plaza España, also in the center of the city.
The commander of the Metropolitan Police, General Eliecer Camacho, assured that these events would be related to microtrafficking.
A waste picker from the area found the bodies and alerted the authorities, who arrived to carry out the survey and inspection of the site.
“Yesterday there was the murder of two people and the town of Mártires more precisely in the area of Plaza España. These persons were found by the police units in two bags and which were subsequently verified by the Technical Investigation Corps (CTI) of the Prosecutor's Office,” explained the senior officer.
