Russia today carried out a test launch with the Sarmat intercontinental ballistic missile, as confirmed on Wednesday by the Russian authorities.

The missile, which was launched from the Plesetsk cosmodrome, reached its destination 6,000 kilometers away at the Kurá polygon on the Kamchatka Peninsula, washed by the Pacific Ocean.

The missile “will make enemies think twice,” said Russian President Vladimir Putin.
