On the night of this Tuesday, April 19, the Senate of the Republic hosted a clash between Lilly Tellez, of the National Action Party (PAN), against Citlalli Hernández, of the National Regeneration Movement (Morena). This in relation to the party's strategy is to point out the deputies who voted against the Electric Reform of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO).
This exchange of disqualifications occurred almost at the close of the session in which the return of Hernández Mora to the Senate Corps was approved. During the process of incorporation, when legislators were consulted that the Morenista take her place as secretary of the Social Security Commission and Integration to seven other ordinary committees, Tellez García asked to use the rostrum.
When the microphone of the panista was turned on, instead of arguing (either for or against) the assignment, Lilly Tellez brought up the alleged bulletins of the deputies who voted against AMLO's constitutional reform, an issue that was not even raised on the Senate's agenda.
With an approach that she could never argue, the panista assumed that the integrity of the deputies of the Va por México coalition (PRI, PAN and PRD), as well as those of the members of the Citizen Movement (MC), was at risk and, based on this speculation, she asked Hernández Mora what is thought take responsibility for this.
Under this logic, he ruled that “Citlalli Hernández began a campaign of persecution and hatred” and assured that the senator does not have the right to stigmatize deputies who differ from the nation project promoted by López Obrador. “How are you going to take responsibility for the hatred you have sown? How are you going to take responsibility for the consequences?” , he insisted.
As a result, Hernández Mora took the rostrum and replied to the former news anchor: “You are the ones who have spread hatred in this country, the classist, racist opposition, which has lowered the level of debate”. He then explained the logic of pointing out to the legislators who voted against the presidential initiative because, according to Q4 and its promoters, the reform suited the people of Mexico.
With this raised, the Morena legislator argued that this is not bulletining, “it is not an attack on the existence of anyone. That is to say what we believe and if you defend not being so, go out with people, we don't say it.” He also challenged the promoters of the Va por México political project to take to the streets and ask people their opinion regarding the dismissal of the Electricity Reform.
Finally, he said that thanks to the opposition voting against the initiative that would benefit the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE), the 4Q project will continue in 2024 until 2030, as citizens will continue to vote against Va por México: “It's not hate speech, they are traitors to the homeland,” he concluded.
