New requirements were announced for those planning to obtain a type B or C driver's license, as revealed by the Mobility Secretariat (Semovi). Therefore, we will inform you about the changes and documents that interested parties will have to submit when carrying out the procedure.
According to Semovi, drivers who need such licenses will have to comply with a new series of tests. In this regard, here we will make known what they are and who should respect the modifications.
It should be remembered that the type B license is for taxi drivers, while the C is for public transport. To obtain both documents, interested parties must take into account a course.
In this regard, the Mobility Secretariat announced that the new requirements for obtaining them is that during the training course they will have to study three new subjects in person.
Thus, it was announced that the new subjects will be taught with the aim of strengthening road safety and promoting the healthy coexistence of users on roads.
What are the new subjects?
-Using the CDMX App.- In this case, motorists will receive guidance on accessing a Key account, as well as downloading and researching the functionality of the “drivers” app.
-Road Safety.- The idea is that with this subject the driver will learn more about coexistence with other drivers in general.
-No discrimination and gender perspective.- What is sought is to raise awareness for decent treatment and avoid discrimination. Also avoid violent behavior in general.
A type A license, issued by the government presided over by Claudia Sheinbaum, will be required to process the type B license, which is at least three years old.
The approximate cost to acquire it ranges from 1,000 pesos to more than 1,700 pesos, depending on the time needed.

As for the type C license, for public transport the procedure is very simple and similar to obtain it, although the costs range from 1,700 to 2,500 pesos.
