Three beaches in Oaxaca that are very cheap

The state of Oaxaca has beautiful beaches, some of the best known are: Mazunte, Puerto Escondido and Zipolite. Each one has its own charm, customs and various activities to do. It is possible to travel to these wonderful places without having to spend a lot, since there are lodging and transportation options that can ease the blow to the wallet when it comes to wanting to visit the Mexican Republic.

Playa Mazunte

Located in southern Oaxaca, just 6 hours from the capital, its waters are part of the Pacific Ocean. This beach is considered Magic Town because it is one of the most beautiful in the state. The place attracts many tourists from all over the world because it has ideal conditions for surfing. It has a temperature above 35 degrees, especially in summer.

In this place you can go diving and snorkeling or go to the Temazcal. Mazunte is dedicated to ecology, so its main attractions are the Mexican Tortuga Center and the Barra del Potrero Iguanarium. Another common activity is watching sunrises and sunsets from Punta Cometa.

Transporte

The cheapest way to get to Mazunte is by bus. The trip lasts just over 10 hours and the cost of the ticket ranges from 1,116 pesos to 1,600 pesos.

If you are looking for a comfortable sleep and not spending a lot, you can find cabins in Mazunte from 489 pesos per night.

Playa Zipolite

This destination is a favorite for sufists due to its high tides with big waves. The majority of tourists are young Europeans and freedom and contact with nature predominate in the environment, which is why some of its beaches are nudist. Zipolite won the Best Destination of the Year award and consolidated itself as Mexico's Unique Destination.

On site you can go fishing, recreational diving, snorkeling, surfing as well as walking through the streets and visiting some bars in the area, where you can play live music. Every January ends, the Nudist Festival is celebrated in which activities such as yoga, body paint and night walks are held.

Transporte

To get to Zipolite, from Mexico City, you must take a bus from Central del Sur bound for Pocholutla, Oaxaca and from there take a collective taxi. The ticket price ranges from 543 pesos to 987 pesos, the journey takes approximately 14 hours.

Hospedaje

To stay cheaply in Zipolite, there is the option of camping, although if that represents too much adventure, there are also hostels that charge a minimum of 450 pesos per night.

Puerto Escondido

A place known for its beautiful beaches with crystal clear waters where there are waves of up to 10 meters. Surfing tournaments are held in July, August, October and November. Puerto Escondido keeps mangroves and diversity of birds and reptiles in its territory. The place is full of handicraft vendors and restaurants.

In the Manialtepec lagoon it is possible to experience a unique natural phenomenon, which is bioluminescence, this occurs more in the rainy season and when there is no full moon.

The cheapest way to travel to this beach from Mexico City is by bus, there are transportation from 853 pesos and the tour takes just over 18 hours.

Hospedaje

There are many accessible hostels in Puerto Escondido that cost approximately 480 pesos per night so you won't have to spend a lot at bedtime.
