The closure will be made from Reference Point 12+200 to PR 12+255, including the road Los Cerezos - Chipaque, so the mobility of the road to the plain will be restricted from today, Wednesday, April 20, from 9 p.m. until tomorrow, Thursday 21 at 4 a.m.
“On the Bogotá - Villavicencio road, km 12+200 and 12+255, it applies in both directions. Full closure is authorized on 20 and 21 April 2022 from 9:00 p.m. to 04:30 a.m. the following day. Alternate route: 1.Bogotá — Choachí — Ubaque — Cáqueza 2.Bogota — Tocancipá — El Sisga — Guateque — Santa Maria — El Secreto — Aguaclara — Barranca de Upía — Cumaral — Villavicencio. Resolution 1300 of April 19, 2022″, confirms the National Institute of Roads, INVÍAS.
The agency, together with the Chipaque Consortium, recommend paying attention to the signalling of closures to avoid accidents, as workers will be carrying out their work throughout the road. In addition, it is advisable to take alternate routes, for this there are two options: Bogotá, Choachí, Ubaque and Cáqueza. The other alternative is: Bogotá, Tocancipá, El Sisga, Guateque, Santa María, El Secreto, Aguaclara, Barranca de Upía, Cumaral and finally Villavicencio.
The works aim to set up a pedestrian bridge in the municipality of Chipaque, which will benefit the inhabitants in order to avoid traffic accidents.
In addition, from today until the end of June, on Wednesdays, there will be closures in the Bijagual and Buena Vista tunnels, due to preventive maintenance activities. The National Infrastructure Agency, ANI, and Coviandina established mobility plans and alternate roads for travelers during the closures. The announced closures aim to make adjustments that, due to their complexity, must be made at night, to avoid further traffic congestion in the road corridor.
It is proposed to make detours along the old road to Bogotá, which connects the Pipiral sector with the La Grama neighborhood in Villavicencio. Likewise, an alternate route is envisaged from the crossing of Sisga and the road to Sogamoso, where they will leave for the Villanueva sector and then take the route to the municipality of Restrepo, in the Meta.
More recently, there was also the total closure in Cundinamarca, of the Girardot-Mosquera road, at the height of Apulo due to the loss of the bank. Enabling passage through this sector is not yet reported.
However, the strong winter season is generating intermittent closures elsewhere nationwide, for example, in the department of Quindío they report closure of the Rio Verde - Barragán highway, in the municipality of Calarcá, due to the fall of trees in that sector. In fact, the Institute of Hydrology, Meteorology and Environmental Studies, Ideam, issued the red alert for the probability of slippage for the municipalities of Armenia, Córdoba and Calarcá. Also, in Nariño, the closure of the access roads to Ancuya is reported due to landslides in the area.
In addition, INVÍAS reported that there have been more than 472 damages nationwide due to the strong winter wave. In April alone, 50 total closures and 51 partial closures were reported; the most affected departments are: Nariño, Huila, Cauca, Caldas, Cundinamarca, Boyacá, Risaralda and Santander. Territorial directors were recommended to him to activate the protocols with the Highway Police, contractors in the area, maintenance officers, among other competent authorities.
