2022 is configured as the year in which major cultural events return to face-to-face events, concerts, the Bogotá International Book Fair, the Bogotá International Theatre Festival, among others.
Now is the turn for the plastic arts that next weekend will take over the city in a new edition of ARTBO | Weekend, which returns to its traditional format from 22 to 24 April.
For the clueless who always ask who will be able to access the city's art galleries, from the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce, who organizes ARTBO, clarified that it will be open to all audiences with a special program of tours of art circuits in Bogotá, with visits to the main galleries, museums, foundations and self-managed spaces.
ARTBO | Weekend was born in 2017 with the purpose, as the organizers say, “to expand the impact of plastic arts in the city, promoting the formation of new audiences, as well as the dissemination, circulation and commercialization of art in the city”.
And it is a satellite stage to the big fair that takes place every year in October, which has become known as the month of the arts in Bogotá, but that is another story.
In the program for this new edition, in addition to the traditional tours of the gallery circuits, there will be an Editorial Meeting and Forum, at ARTBO | Salas — Chapinero Headquarters (calle 67 # 8-32), whose programming will also be open to the public.
The Bogotá Planetarium also joins ARTBO | Weekend and will serve as the stage and host for the intervention Swallowing the Universe, Shitting an Ant: Sketches of a Constipated Conjurer; NIETO, a collective installation. As part of this installation, the dome will project Swallow the universe, shut out an ant.
