Pentagon spokesman John Kirby criticized Tuesday the situation in the Donbas and assured that the United States will continue to arm Ukraine to fight Russian troops while preparing a new military aid package valued at $800 million.

“The ammunition we are giving them is adapted and designed for the fight that we know they have now in the Donbas and that they will have in the coming days and weeks,” Kirby said at a press conference, adding that they are pieces for artillery, as well as radar systems, unmanned systems and small arms and ammunition.

“Since the invasion, we have helped deliver, not only from our stocks but those of other countries, more than 50 million rounds of ammunition for small arms of various calibers. And that's the kind of material that Ukrainians are using literally every day since this invasion began,” he said.

According to CNN, the United States would be preparing another security assistance package valued at $800 million for Ukraine, as three senior US officials have said.

Within the framework of delivering aid, Kirby noted that they are doing “everything they can to focus on the types of capabilities they need and that they say they want and are using, and on trying to get them systems that don't need much start-up time, which they can put into the field almost immediately.”

THE ANALYSIS OF THE UNITED KINGDOM

On the other hand, the United Kingdom Ministry of Defence transmitted in a report on Tuesday the current situation of Ukrainian troops in the Donbas, ensuring that troops continue to increase in the area.

“Russian bombings on the Donbas line of control continue to increase and Ukrainians repel attempts to advance Russian forces,” the United Kingdom Ministry of Defense reported in the latest British Intelligence update on the situation in Ukraine.

He also stressed that “Russia's ability to advance continues to be affected by the environmental, logistical and technical challenges that have plagued it so far, combined with the resistance of the highly motivated Ukrainian armed forces.”

The statement published in the Ministry's official tale on Twitter, stressed that Russian troops “continue to fail to achieve their objectives as quickly as they would like.”
