Brazilian star Ricardo Izecson dos Santos Leite, better known in the football world as Kaka, was sharing this Tuesday in Bogotá. This was evidenced by a photograph uploaded by Millonarios in which the former player appears wearing the team's shirt with his name stamped on the back.
Kaka's visit to the country's capital came about because it is part of the Adidas 'Brand Day' campaign, which seeks to advertise the brand in different parts of the world. It should be noted that both the former footballer of the Brazilian national team and Millonarios are sponsored by this famous German company.
In the photograph, the former player of world-class teams such as Real Madrid and AC Milan appears alongside the technical director of the 'albiazil' ensemble, Alberto Gamero, and the president of the institution, Enrique Camacho.
However, despite the fact that no further details were provided about this meeting, users on social media did not miss the opportunity to make fun of it. With memes and some criticism in between, many remembered Real Madrid's 8-0 victory against Millonarios for the 2012 Santiago Bernabeu Trophy.
On September 26, Kaka was one of the figures, since he scored three goals for the 'ambajador' team, then led by Hernán Torres. José Callejón, Alvaro Morata and Karim Benzema also reported on the scoreboard. This event had a special component, as it served as a commemoration for Alfredo di Stéfano, the star of football in the 1950s and 60s, who wore both teams' jerseys.
After falling 1-0 against Deportivo Pereira last weekend, Alberto Gamero sent a piece of tranquility to the fans, who showed their disagreement with the rotations and some adverse results of the team: “The idea is to give minutes to some, but those who are playing are not going to stop. On Thursday and Sunday we will have two important matches and we will try to get the most players who have been playing to play.”
“In football it's not just about winning and winning. Despite the fact that the team lost, today the fans have to feel satisfied with what Millionarios proposed here, because the initiative was all up to us. That context must be looked at. I am happy to always see people in the grandstand of Millionarios, happy to see that people accompany us,” added coach samario.
And it is that in the coming days Millionarios will have two very important commitments. This Thursday they will be playing against Jaguares de Córdoba, at the El Campín stadium, for the first leg of the round of 16 of the Copa Colombia. And on Sunday they will face a new edition of the capital's classic against Independiente Santa Fe, valid for the 17th date of the BetPlay League.
One of the main concerns of the 'ambassador' for the upcoming matches is the state of health of Stiven Vega, one of his top figures during the last tournaments. The 23-year-old fought a ball with Jhonny Vasquez in the middle of the court and they ended up crashing. On contact, the Millonarios player made an atypical move with his left knee.
Vega tried to stay in the match, but, after a few minutes, he chose to be replaced in the face of constant pain. On Monday he had an MRI, so now the followers are waiting to know the official medical report.
