Last Sunday, April 17, after nine o'clock in the evening, a man and a woman were parked in a black BMW van with GQS 110 plates on 159th Street with Carrera 54, in the Mazurén neighborhood, in the town of Suba, in the north of Bogotá.
In a matter of seconds, an everyday situation turned into a nightmare for which ten million pesos are now offered in reward. Two people descended from another red van a few meters away, also escorted by a motorcycle, and approached the sides of the black vehicle. At that time they caught the attention of their occupants and drew their firearms.
With physical force and intimidation, and before the helpless gaze of a neighbor walking her pet, the woman in the driver's seat was beaten and thrown into the back seats along with her companion.
The van then started with the two hostages and their two escort vehicles. The victims were trapped in their own vehicle for a couple of hours, until they were finally abandoned in a vacant lot in the town of Engativá, without the vehicle or valuables.
“For this case, the National Police is offering up to ten million pesos so that people can give us information to find those responsible for this event,” Major William Tellez, deputy commander of the Suba Police Station, told the news Citynoticias.
The Criminal Investigation Section and INTERPOL (Sijin) in Bogotá is still investigating the facts and trying to determine if there are more victims of the same gang, which would be mainly interested in high-end vehicles, so they invite the complaint.
Despite having good resolution, the security camera that captured the facts does not clearly show the license plates of the vehicles that were escorting the criminals, so the authorities do not have the license plates of the motorcycle or the red van. The most valuable resource for the investigation is the testimony of those who saw the incident.
