It is confirmed that the Executive Branch will hold a Decentralized Council of Ministers in the Kuelap fortress, located in Amazonas, after several reported collapses in the area of the walls. This was announced by the President of the Republic, Pedro Castillo, during a ceremony of recognition such as the chonguinada and chunguinada dances in the Ministry of Culture (MinCul).

The objective of Castillo Terrones is to go with the members of its cabinet of ministers to the fortress to compensate for the damage to the archaeological monument, as well as to meet the needs of all the inhabitants of Amazonas.

“From here I want to announce to the Amazonas region that we are not only going to build that fortress, to build that wealth, it is a cultural manifestation of Kuelap, but we are also going to raise the country and soon we will hold a Decentralized Council in Kuelap itself, to see how we contribute to the culture of the country and to attend to each of the villages”, said from the MinCul headquarters in San Borja.

Likewise, the president who happened in Kuelap also brought down the dreams of the peoples of that region. “Recently, due to situations that have occurred historically such as Kuelap, these important ruins of this cultural manifestation, which, as I have seen it have been demolished, the dreams of peoples have also been broken down, thus the dreams of the peoples have been frustrated,” he said during his participation in that ceremony.

PROPOSAL OF THE MINISTER OF CULTURE

A few days ago, Alejandro Salas, head of the Ministry of Culture, informed the press that he was going to propose to President Castillo, and to the premier, Aníbal Torres, the possibility of holding the meeting of the Council of Ministers in the Kuelap fortress following the disasters in the area.

To this end, the head of Mincul announced that he is preparing a minutes where both the head of state and the premier will be asked to go to the province of Luya, in Amazonas, to be part of this ministerial meeting.

“There was a meeting where it was possible to highlight the points of this record. I asked for the presence of the President of the Republic (Pedro Castillo). It is rather the president who tells us as ministers: 'when you travel, please tell me what places are asking for the Decentralized Council of Ministers, I want to be there'. So this is one of them,” said Minister Salas.

“I am taking the proposal to the president and the premier (Aníbal Torres) to be able to make a Decentralized Council in Kuelap. This will not only be significant, but an important point in the progress we need to move Kuelap forward,” the official said.

KUELAP FALLS APART

The regional governor of Amazonas, Oscar Altamirano Quispe, requested the immediate intervention of specialists in the Kuélap archaeological complex, since there would be another 11 points that are at risk of collapse.

In addition, Altamirano indicated that he has requested the formation of a high-level commission to take action in the face of the collapse suffered in the walls of the fortress, but that such a working group must include the region and the authorities of the area that are related to the monument that is the cultural heritage of the nation.

Finally, he specified that the aforementioned commission should be made up of the ministerial portfolios of Culture, Economy and Finance and Foreign Trade and Tourism, as well as the Amazonas Regional Government for the creation of the Kuelap Special Project Executing Unit.
