Thor: Love and Thunder (Thor: Love and Thunder) will be the fourth installment of the saga focusing on the God of Thunder in the narrative line of the Cinematic Universe from Marvel. Filmmaker Taika Waititi repeats his role as director after working on Thor: Ragnarok, and brings back Chris Hemsworth in a continuation for his character after Avengers: Endgame. But Odin's son won't be alone because Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) has returned, and she will now be worthy enough to take Mjolnir.
Last Monday, the first poster and a sneak peek of what this adventure will be like for the superhero in the vast universe was revealed. Initially, he goes into the unknown with the Guardians of the Galaxy, led by Peter Quill (Chris Pratt), and later, he sets out on his own path. This is how he will also be reunited with the warrior Korg, Dr. Foster, and even Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), the new person in charge of ruling the people of Asgard on Earth.
Through his social networks, Portman shared a new promotional poster for Thor: Love and Thunder that introduces us to Mighty Thor. “The one is not the only one”, argues the premise written in the image as a response to what the original said about Thor being “the one”. In this way, the character is officially introduced completely renewed and with a much fitter appearance, a compliment that is the product of the arduous training that the Oscar winner received.
The last time anything was heard about Jane Foster was in Thor's second film, which was one of the most criticized in the UCM. In Avengers: Endgame, she reappears (with reused scenes of the actress) when the Avenger travels back in time as part of their mission to recover the Time Gems in a parallel universe and prevent Thanos from gaining power from them.
Taika Waititi directs one of the most anticipated Marvel films
Thor: Love and Thunder is a continuation and possible farewell for Chris Hemsworth, one of the stars who made up the original cast of the Avengers and one of the few left standing. In this great event being prepared by award-winning New Zealand director Taika Waititi, the mighty blond-haired god recovers his physique and dresses in the style of a rocker. Although we will also see him wear a costume of his own culture like the ones he has been wearing since the beginning.
The film will also mark the long-awaited return of Natalie Portman almost 10 years after leaving Marvel (Thor: A Dark World premiered in 2013). The big announcement was made at the San Diego Comic-Con in 2019 during an organized panel about this production in which Hemsworth, Waititi and Thompson participated. Symbolically, the protagonist of The Black Swan and Jackie received the Mjolnir hammer from the filmmaker in reference to her role as Mighty Thor.
Thor: Love and Thunder will be released on July 7 in cinemas in Latin America.
