On April 18, the youtuber known as El Compa Jorge was gunned down outside his home, located on Gilberto Owen Street in Culiacán, Sinaloa. As part of the investigations, the Attorney General's Office of the State of Sinaloa reported that the content creator had been “lifted” before the fatal attack, although at the time, he did not file any complaints.
According to teacher Sara Bruna Quiñónez Estrada, Compa Jorge already had a criminal record for carrying weapons, because after the apparent previous kidnapping, he would have decided to take her with him to defend himself.
“We found among the data that he (El Compa Jorge) already had a criminal record for carrying weapons, although he mentioned that he had been “lifted” - so on those terms -”, Sara Bruna said during the press conference on April 20.
According to the report by the Attorney General's Office of the State of Sinaloa, Jorge Luis “L” did not proceed legally for the kidnapping, so there is no information on when the incident occurred: “We have no record of him filing the complaint, one of his relatives also mentioned it, but there is no complaint. formal about it,” said Sara Bruna Quiñonez.
On the other hand, the Sinaloa Prosecutor's Office revealed that the shots fired at the youtuber were fired from a car that had no registration in the state of Sinaloa:
“He was riddled with gunshot injuries from his life when he left home to go to work, according to the witnesses' version of the incident, he was shot several times from a vehicle that apparently had license plates from another state.”
Finally, it was mentioned that the investigation into the murder of the content creator is ongoing and the activities of Compa Jorge have not stopped being analyzed and integrated into the corresponding folder.
Although it was said that El Compa Jorge would go to work, on April 18 it was still visible that on Instagram, the content creator announced that he had attended a bank branch minutes before he was attacked:
“What a show my people, happy start to the week for everyone! We are over the holidays for which we were able to have a vacation, and now we are, chin**le. Here I come to account for the banks to see how much line there is. Plebes blessings, nice day for all”, said the youtuber around one o'clock in the afternoon.
In initial reports, witnesses stated that gunmen arrived at the scene in a newly-model gray SUV-type Toyota car, and later intercepted the content creator and repeatedly fired at him.
The assailants fled in an unknown direction in the same vehicle, while emergency personnel went to the site of the attack to treat Compa Jorge, who had several gunshot wounds, and was transferred to a rehabilitation clinic located on Francisco I. Madero Street in the Las Vegas colony.
Despite efforts made to try to save the 35-year-old man's life, injuries caused by gunshot wounds caused him to die while in the ambulance that took him to the clinic, so doctors who received him at the clinic confirmed his death.
State police and personnel from the Attorney General's Office of the State of Sinaloa (FGE) went to the scene to cordon off the perimeter and carry out the collection of evidence, as about 10 9-millimeter handgun casings were found.
Compa Jorge had more than 62,000 followers on his YouTube channel, where he used to post content related to Razers ATVs, which are worth approximately half a million pesos.
