One of the most recognizable friendships in Mexican art in the 1980s and 90s was the one formed by Verónica Castro, the late makeup artist Alfredo Palacios and fashion designer Mitzy, who is the creator of emblematic dresses that the actress has worn throughout her career.
Mitzy began his career at a very young age creating costumes for the vedette and transvestite imitator Francis, who later connected him with Sasha Montenegro, from then on the couturier began to stand out in the middle, managing to create clothes for multiple actresses and singers such as Rocío Dúrcal, Maribel Guardia, Thalia, Lupita D'Alessio, and Maria Felix, however, with Verónica Castro lived a special approach and maintained a friendly relationship over the decades.
Together with Alfredo Palacios, Jorge García Cárdenas, Mitzy's real name, consolidated a strong friendship with Verónica Castro, who soon became a prominent host, and it was on her show Night a Night that she hired Mitzy as a costumer, who with her talent managed to stand out on screen.
However, for several years, friendship has been forgotten, and from what was once a strong union, today there is no longer any relationship. Although Mitzy has already spoken about it before, he recently shared details to journalist Eden Dorantes:
“My relationship with Verónica Castro was cut off according to her forever, so I respect her decision, although I know it's not hers, it's from her representative who didn't want to see us even in painting, she drove us away, she said 'get out of here, I don't want them', so this relationship, it was almost a 50-year relationship, because I've known Vero since we were very children ”, said the dressmaker in reference to a person close to the 70-year-old actress.
“Our relationship with Alfredo Palacios and Verónica Castro was forever, but the moment came when the relationship broke down, it was never seen with Alfredo or me again. Alfredo before he died gave me good advice and I am following him, he said to me 'Mitzy, please respect Veronica's decision, if he doesn't want to see you respect it, that's it valid, respect it'. Then Alfredo said 'I learned to respect, if she doesn't want to see me I'm going to respect her' and then I'm following the advice of Alfredo Palacios,” said the costumer, who is working on his memoirs book.
Known as “the designer of the stars”, the 66-year-old assured that for the star of soap operas such as Los rico also cry and Rosa salvaje has nothing but thanks.
“I would be ungrateful if I said no (I need it), because what I am going to have forever is thanks to Verónica Castro, because we started many years ago together, she was the one who gave me the opportunity, she gave me the fame because every night she mentioned to me 'And that Mitzy, Mitzy', with Doña, with everyone...”
“I always had Veronica's support, so I can't be ungrateful, but obey, if she doesn't want to see me...”, he said, however, she told how the distancing that so far keeps them away originated: “There was a problem with some dresses she gave me to sell, and those dresses I have them, I haven't stolen anything from her, I'm not shoplifter, but it's not Veronica, it's who is behind Vero, I know who he is”, he reiterated.
Mitzy did not want to mention the name of the person to whom he referred: “There is no case... (that person is still next to Verónica), is the one who drove us all away, I was the first one who flew out, then Alfredo Palacios, we flew out of there,” he stressed.
