Margarita Rosa de Francisco was one of the main supporters of Gustavo Petro's candidacy for President. The renowned Colombian actress and presenter has been very active during the electoral period in the country, causing criticism for stressing her position politics.
A few weeks ago, De Francisco endorsed the vice-presidential candidacy of France Márquez in the Historical Pact, and he made this known through an opinion column which he published on his web portal 'Margarita va sola'. There she highlighted the social leader and questioned other Colombian politicians with greater experience in public office.
“I don't see France ready to steal a beach or to act as the preparations who have held that position and all those who demand high ethical responsibility have done. I don't see her ready to submit to what Petro imposes on her. I don't see her ready to be condescending or to brush anyone or to continue using moldy and patriarchal language,” she said in her digital space.
However, beyond these endorsements, the Vallecaucana surprised its followers with a post on its Twitter account highlighting a quality of Federico Gutiérrez, the presidential candidate of the Team for Colombia. “If there is something cool, it is the talk of Federico [Gutiérrez]. What would be that tasty speech with other content. Oh, I'm getting married!” , he said.
The trill provoked all kinds of reactions among users. One of the first to speak out was the presenter Sergio Barbosa, who replied: “Caught! You like neas.” Faced with this, the Colombian actress responded with an emoji showing her teeth.
“Margarita, that talk about FICO is not at all tasty”, “Fico's accent is from ñero”, “it's not just the speech, it's his ideas, his capacity, his simplicity, his honesty and the infinite desire he has to work for this country,” other netizens said.
Last Monday, Gustavo Petro and Francia Márquez signed an agreement at Notary 17 in Bogotá in which they pledged not to expropriate if they win the presidential elections. “Before a notary and in a public document under the gravity of an oath - if I fail to comply would be a crime - I pledge before the people that, respecting the Constitution and the law, there will be no act of expropriation against any property of Colombians in my government,” said the candidate of the Historical Pact during the event.
Margarita Rosa de Francisco, for example, highlighted the signing of the document for the first presidential round: “How important is this fact for those of us who respect private property and are not interested in the communist model.”
“While I was having lunch, I received a call, answered it, asked who you need and they answered 'King Kong'”: this is the story that the current candidate for vice presidency for the Historical Pact shared at a proselytizing event in Boyacá.
Márquez, who has been the victim of other similar episodes during the heat of the electoral contest, received the support of the auditorium, where he outlined the government plan with which the Covenant Historico competes for the presidency of the Republic.
“That doesn't take away my strength. That doesn't discourage me. Of course, that hurts, that hurts, that hurts, because racism kills, just as machismo kills in this country. The question is what was that person who was behind the phone thinking. That person is damaged and hurt in his being,” said the vice presidential candidate, provoking acclaim and cheers from the audience.
