Luis Diaz was one of the main protagonists in Liverpool's last match against Manchester United for the 30th date of the Premier League. 'El Guajiró' opened the scoring at minute 5 of the match and then gave an assist for Sadio Mané. It came out amid the applause of the fans who were present in the stands of Anfield. His arrival has had a huge impact on Jürgen Klopp's team.
On January 30, 2022, while 'El Guajiro' was playing for the Colombia National Team in the Playoffs, Liverpool confirmed the signing that many were looking forward to, Luis Díaz was already a new player for the 'Reds'. He arrived at the club after a great season with Porto where he scored 16 goals and made six assists, even facing his current team in the group stage of the Champions League, something that ended up convincing Klopp to close the contract.
“I don't want to go into chapters and verses about the qualities of Luis, because very soon he himself will have the opportunity to demonstrate them. What he does will be much more important than anything I say”, these were some of the first words that the German coach mentioned after the Colombian's arrival in the squad and he was not mistaken as Díaz has become one of the benchmarks of the team, becoming part of the trident in attack formed by Sadio Mané and Mohamed Salah.
It was only two days after his arrival in England for him to play his first official match. On February 6, 2022, he took the field for the first time as a Liverpool player and did so in an FA Cup match against Cardiff City in Anfield. 32 minutes on the court were enough for him to give his first assist, a pass to Minamino who entered the area and finished off with power.

Since February 6, Luis Díaz has played 17 matches with Jürgen Klopp's team. Premier League, FA Cup, League Cup and Champions League have been the tournaments that have been attended by the Colombian since his arrival in England, however, what is surprising is that in the times he has been on the court, the team has only lost once.
It was in the match against Inter Milan in the knockout stages of the Champions League. After having won a 0-2 win at Giuseppe Meazza in Milan, Klopp's team received at home the Italian team looking to turn the score around. Lautaro Martínez scored the only goal of the match in the 61st minute, while the Colombian was a substitute and entered the 83′ by Diogo Jota and played just over ten minutes on the playing field.
This was the only defeat for the Colombian who played 17 matches for Liverpool, of which he won 13 (seven in the Premier League, four in the FA Cup and two in the Champions League) and drew three (one in the Premier League, one in the League Cup final and one in the Champions League). The Colombian has also been involved in seven scores, four directly (Norwich, Brighton, Benfica and Manchester United) and three through assists (Cardiff City, Benfica and Manchester United).
Before arriving in Anfield, Liverpool had suffered two losses in the Premier League (West Ham United and Leicester) and had six draws (Chelsea, Brentford, Manchester City, Brighton and Tottenham). He is now the current leader of the standings, is two points above Pep Guardiola's team and has one more match. On the next date they will face Everton in the Merseyside Derby.
