On April 20, the national leaders of the Democratic Revolution Party (PRD) Jesús Zambrano and the National Action Party, Marko Cortés, issued a press conference in which they denounced attacks, which they classified as misogynistic, against the candidate for the governorship of Quintana Roo, Laura Fernández, a former member of the Green Party and now representative of the coalition “Going for Mexico”.
The candidate asserted that there is an audio, which was leaked via media, in which Jorge Emilio González, known as “the green child”, allegedly threatened her. In addition, in the above-mentioned material, the deputy would have referred to it in a derogatory manner.
According to Laura Fernández's statements, she was certain of the veracity of the audio, since it would have referred to a message that the candidate herself would have sent to Jorge Emilio during her tenure as a member of the Green Party.
