“Enough is enough!” , were the words made by the vice-coordinator of the National Action Party (PAN) in the Senate of the Republic, Kenya López Rabadán, to ask the government of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO) to stop the campaign of hate against the legislators who voted against the Electricity Reform.

During the session of this Wednesday, April 20 in the Senate of the Republic, the PAN legislators decided to go against the agenda and intervene in the debate to denounce the campaign initiated by the leader of the National Regeneration Movement (Morena), Mario Delgado Carillo, by calling the opposition as “traitors to the homeland”.

It was López Rabadán who asked the president of the Board of Directors of the Upper House, Olga Sánchez Cordero, to allow space during the day for discussion of the issue, especially the statements by Mario Delgado, Citlalli Hernández and AMLO on what happened in San Lazaro on April 17.

Despite the insistence, Sánchez Cordero refused to open a space in the debate; however, the panist used her time in the gallery during the discussion of the outflow of the guts to send a message to López Obrador and Delgado Carrillo.

During her speech, the senator called for a halt to hate speech that, from her perspective, violates all citizens, especially because, she said, they encourage the deepening of the issue of insecurity and violence, as was seen in the 2021 election when 102 politicians seeking public office were killed.

“From the Senate of the Republic we say to Andrés Manuel López Obrador and Mario Delgado: 'Enough violence against the opposition! Enough of violating free Mexicans from power! ' . We come from the worst election, 102 politicians killed from all political parties, compañeras and comrades, 102 killed and the president continues to whip, continue to divide, continue to threaten,” he said.

He also noted that “it is not possible” that direct threats against the deputies and deputies who “defended Mexico” by voting against the bill that AMLO sent to the Congress of the Union are being allowed.

Kenia López also stated that it is incomprehensible to her that alleged harassment is being allowed against the legislators who from her seat defended their convictions; in addition, she stressed that there is an obsession in the federal administration with the so-called Bartlett Act, which caused discomfort because it did not happen.

Finally, he recalled that Morena was an opposition for some years, so he asked them to stop the attacks and address the problems of Mexican citizens, since he assured that they “have never experienced the stigmatization that exists today since the National Palace”.
