“The truth is that we have never been friends of Gustavo Petro. In fact, we have not belonged to the same political movement or the same party, but just as Antanas Mockus did four years ago in the second round, which despite the enormous differences we have, we managed to accept the good things that the opponent has, as we have done so now,” said Katherine Miranda in dialogue with the BluRadio station.

Moreover, he highlighted the spirit of the progressive aspirant who leads all the voting intensions and said the reasons why he entrusted him not only with his vote, but also the opportunity to work with him in his career to succeed Iván Duque.

For now, Gustavo Petro has only thanked Congresswoman Verde for joining her candidacy but has not said anything about the controversial comments that her today co-party voted for him in previous years.

The Sunflower Party Congresswoman's announcement that she was joining Petro came in a video on her Twitter account, where she assured that, although she did not want to tell the country who she would vote for in the first round, the current situation led her to reveal her electoral interests.

“I had made the decision not to announce my vote, I had made the decision not to participate in the campaign. But the circumstances that today entangle all political campaigns, lies and betrayals force me to take a clear position in this election. My name is Katherine Miranda and I want Gustavo Petro to be my president,” Miranda said.

The candidate for the Historical Pact thanked his new head of debate and said that together they will make possible the change that Petro wants for the country. “Thank you Katherine, for your support and that of your electorate. I know that with you we are going to change Colombia for life,” said the candidate, who is currently leading the polls for the intention to vote for the presidency.
