The climate of violence in Mexico has already been reflected in the figures of the Ministry of Public Security and Protection (SSPC), which registered a rise of just over 400 intentional homicides from February to March.
According to the agency, in the second month of the year two thousand 261 victims of crime were reported, which rose to 2,657 by March 2022 - the period where the multihomicides of Zinapécuaro (Michoacan and Atlixco (Puebla), as well as several finds of bodies showing signs of torture throughout the Republic.
This was also demonstrated in the six entities with the most homicides in the country, of which five registered an increase in cases, despite the fact that the Federal Government has deployed crews of elements of the Armed Forces and the National Guard (GN).
Despite this scenario, the head of the agency, Rosa Icela Rodríguez, boasted that these numbers “are the lowest in recent years” thanks, she said, to the strategies deployed against organized crime.
