Figure of Millonarios did not agree with the team and will go free at the end of the championship

Andrés Felipe Román has had several physical problems that have prevented him from having continuity in the first half of 2022

A regrettable news was heard by the followers of Millonarios through the VBar of Caracol Radio. The radio program reported that right-back Andrés Felipe Román and the Bogotá club did not reach an agreement for the renewal of their contract, so from now on they can negotiate with another team to join once their employment relationship ends in junior.

Andrés Román was one of the team's most outstanding players in the second half of 2021. What earned him to be called up by Reinaldo Rueda for the matches against Bolivia, Paraguay and Chile, although he didn't play for a single minute. In addition, Boca Juniors set their eyes on the player, however, the signing was frustrated by an adverse heart condition in medical studies.

After this mishap, Millonarios was forced to carry out more medical checks on Roman to rule out a disease that would put the player's life at risk. In the end, studies carried out both in Colombia and internationally determined that the winger has the heart of an athlete, which does not represent a greater risk for the practice of high performance sports.

His return to the courts with the ambassador team took place on February 7, 2022 in a 1-0 victory over Unión Magdalena. At that time he had only six months of contract and negotiations to renew were beginning. As time went by, these were delayed due to the player's desire to improve conditions and the refusal on the part of the managers.

These were complicated when some offers from international football and another from Atlético Nacional were unofficially announced. Negotiations began to delay and Andrés Román's constant ankle injuries played against the defender who could not add up to the desired number of minutes.

In 2022, Roman has only played six matches between Liga and Copa Libertadores. In total, Millonarios has won four matches and lost three to the player on the playing field. The last one was against América de Cali on April 4, at that time he played only 46 minutes and was rated 5.4 out of 10.

The full-back came to Millonarios in 2014, at the age of 18, and enrolled in the team's minor divisions. It was Argentina's Diego Cocca who made the decision to bring him closer to the first team, including him in a series of friendly matches against Real Santander and Fortaleza CEIF. But it is not until 2017, with the help of Miguel Ángel Russo, that the player is definitely coupled. He made his debut against Deportivo Cali in the Apertur

Since then, and leaving aside the health complications, Román's career has only been on the rise. He won the 2017 Ending Tournament, in the match that his team would win against Independiente Santa Fe, and would win the Super League title at the beginning of 2018, beating the green team from the city of Medellín. His first goal as a professional came in May 2019, against Deportivo Pasto.
