During the 1990s, many pop groups emerged in Mexico, including Kabah. María José, René Ortiz, Sergio O'Farril, Daniela Magun and the brothers Federica and Apio Quijano quickly managed to position themselves in the public's taste with their greatest hits: La calle de las sirenas, La vida que vada, Vive and Al pasar.

However, like other stars of the time, they decided to take a break to work on their personal projects and approximately six years ago they decided to meet again on a tour with OV7. The concerts caused great expectation because both groups were considered as direct competition because they belonged to the same genre. But that was not all, what attracted the most attention was the absence of María José, sparking rumors about a possible estrangement.

The five members who have remained in the group for 30 years got on the Scorpion behind the wheel to talk about their upcoming return to the stage. During the talk, Alex Montiel couldn't help but question them about what his relationship with Maria Jose is currently like after he decided not to rejoin the group and continue working on his solo career.

René Ortiz was the first to talk about it: “We got along very well with her, she left.” Apio Quinajo was not far behind and, with his great sense of humor, said: “We have a very cordial relationship with Maria José”.

On a more serious note, Federica Quijano, who is currently part of the Chamber of Deputies, added: “We love La Josa, it is also the best and we love that it is doing so well, that is, for me she is one of the best voices [...] the fact is that we miss her a lot”.

To prove this, Daniela Magun proposed to speak via telephone with her former partner and, after waiting a few minutes, she did not respond. At the end of the interview, the host of Netas Divinas co-explained that María José could not respond because she was on a flight.

On the other hand, the members of Kabah recalled that during their beginnings they were the victims of theft by a manager. According to their account, they became aware of the situation after they were asked for proof of their travel expenses, in fact, they did not know what the concept referred to, and when they explained to them they did not hesitate to ask the representative in question.
