He took advantage of the dreams of children and teenagers who wanted to become professional football players to steal their cell phones. A guy performed in several neighborhoods of Metropolitan Lima as a football coach of a well-known academy that was looking for talent; however, after gaining his trust he asked minors who hand over their phones to him while they were doing sports and then disappeared.

The subject wore a polo shirt from the Deportivo Cantolao club, and arrived on Sunday at the Cruz de Ate human settlement, in the district of Ate Vitarte. There he talked to some parents assuring that their children were shortlisted and that he could give them a scholarship to train at the football academy.

In the area, he caught five minors and summoned them for an alleged test of their conditions for football that, as he mentioned, would change their lives.

He told us that I am from Cantolao, we are going to give a free one-year scholarship (...). He made me see his cell phone with the names of the classmates my son plays with, and he told me that such children were going to go. That's why I gave him confidence and left him,” one of the mothers of the minors told América Noticias.

I DRUGGED AND ROBBED THEM

Once he took the young men away from their parents, the man asked them to give him their cell phones and what little money they had. He had them sit in the grandstand of a nearby football field and invited them a soda in which he would have put some foreign substance. Then it disappeared with the belonging of the teenagers.

When we found them they were frightened, they couldn't talk , they said he invited them a soda. We assume that something has given him in that drink,” said Jhony Caballero, leader of Human Settlement Cruz de Ate.

Two of the mothers reported the incident at the Vitarte police station. They indicated that the man called himself Cesar Dominguez, but this would be a false name.

It should be noted that the Cantolao club denies any link with this guy who wore his shirt during the robbery.

ALSO IN SJM

New victims of the fake coach appeared in the district of San Juan de Miraflores. Four teenagers, between 14 and 16 years old, were deceived by the subject, who acted under the same modality as in Ate. Only this time he spent more days in the area to gain the trust of parents and minors.

He said there was going to be a championship and he wanted to find values for them to play in the Cantolao club,” one of the parents told the América Noticias news.

By the third day of training, the subject had asked the minors to bring their cell phones to take photos because it was going to be the last session. However, before starting training, he asked for their phones to “put away” them while they were playing.

The man indicated that he should bring more equipment for training and told two young men to accompany him. Then he sent them to pick up a woman at an address to collect documents. That's when he disappeared.

However, one of the minors had managed to take a picture of it and send it to his parents. This image will serve to find his whereabouts.
