The German Lennard Kämna (Bora) won this Wednesday in Villabassa (Italy) the third stage of the Alps Tour, which is still dominated in the general standings by Spaniard Pello Bilbao, who arrived in the group of favorites almost a minute later. Esteban Chaves remains the best Colombian in the European race.
Kämna, in the lead in a group of seven escapees, launched an attack on the banner announcing the goal one kilometre away, to win the stage, ahead of Costa Rica's Andrey Amador (Ineos), 3 seconds away, and Spaniard Jonathan Lastra (Caja Rural), 4 seconds away. in his 25th birthday, the German won his fifth victory, having won among other things a stage of the Tour de France in 2020.

After the short, flat descent to the gentle hills leading to the intermediate sprint at Lienz Zettersfeldbahn, the final climb of Kals am Grossglockner will be 12.5 km: the first 3,000 metres are the most demanding with an average slope of 9%; then a flat stretch of 4 km, and then climb the next three kilometres to 6%.
