The Criminal Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice reported on Wednesday that the appeal filed after the conviction imposed on former governor of Antioquia Luis Alfredo Ramos did not succeed, and he will have to serve the sentence of eight years in prison for the crime of concert to commit crimes in order to promote illegal armed groups.

Specifically, Ramos was caught meeting, receiving financial support and electoral support from the United Self-Defense Forces of Colombia, to facilitate the processing of a law that would give political status to that armed group.
