The head of government of Mexico City (CDMX), Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, along with the 17 governors of Movimiento Regeneración Nacional (Morena), celebrated the adoption of the Mining Law, an initiative sent by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO).
In a statement, the leaders of the so-called Fourth Transformation (Q4) congratulated the legislators, whom they described as nationalists, for the “historic approval” of the reforms to the Mining Law.
In the text, the head of government and the governors assured that lithium is a strategic mineral for the energy transition and national development, so the new presidential project will ensure that the benefits of its exploitation are not for large transnational corporations, but for the people of Mexico.
