During noon this Wednesday, authorities reported that they had captured, in the sector known as Coyoacán, in Mexico City, Eduard Fernando Giraldo, alias Boliqueso, a man accused of trafficking cocaine into Central America, Europe, the United States and the Arab Emirates. According to Jorge Luis Vargas, director of the National Police, the prisoner now captured has more than 15 years of criminal history in his name. That man, in fact, is requested by a District Court of New York, United States, for this crime.

The capture of the alleged criminal took place in collaboration with the Colombian, Mexican, British and US authorities. This, says Vargas, “the most important blow against drug trafficking after the capture of Dairo Antonio Úsuga David, alias Otoniel”.

” He committed crimes for the Cali, North del Valle cartels with alias Jabón, in the same way with the brothers' Comba ', Javier Antonio and Luis Enrique Calle Serna. Responsible for sending several tons of cocaine to the United States (...) followed for several months to 'Boliqueso' in Acapulco, Mexico City, where several luxury cars and apartments were detected and women coming from other countries were detected, they were followed to achieve their location,” added the uniformed.

Giraldo Cardoza was first captured in Brazil, in April 2016. At that time, by decision of a judge, he was released. In addition to drug trafficking, the Prosecutor's Office accused him of his alleged guilt in four murders: that of model Lady Johana Gómez Restrepo, that of Andrés Fernando Jaramillo and Wandy Alberto Sevillano Benítez.

“According to the specialized prosecutor's office of the capital of Vallecauca, alias Boliqueso had participated in the murder of 81-year-old Maria del Socorro Patiño de Moreno, on June 5, 2015, in the Uribe de Yumbo neighborhood (Valle del Cauca); likewise, in the murder of INPEC official Julián Bernardo Tacuma Cortés, reported as disappeared since June 6, 2015, whose body was found on June 13 of that same year, with signs of torture, on the road to Mulaló, in the jurisdiction of Yumbo”, the statement reads in which, in addition, he is told of extortion.

“The Court has reiterated that in order to establish whether the conduct attributed to the requested person in the requesting country is considered a crime in Colombia, a comparison must be made between the norms that underpin unionization, with those of internal order to establish whether they also reflect the behaviors contained in each of the charges”, said the Supreme Court of Justice.

General Vargas said that “Boliqueso is one of the people who have taken the most cocaine out of Colombia in recent years”, not counting his active participation in the Cali Cartel. He was head of the assassins of 'Los Rastrojos' and had nearly 200 criminals under his command. According to the authorities, 'Boliqueso' was identified at the time as responsible for 70 percent of the murders in Cali. He is known for being the successor of brothers Javier Antonio and Luis Enrique Calle Serna, known as 'Los Comba'.

“He was the articulator of the criminal gang Los Rastrojos and senior partner of alias Otoniel' since when the structure under his command was known as Clan Úsuga,” authorities commented.

“He committed crimes with alias Jabón, as well as with the Comba brothers, responsible for sending several tons of cocaine to the United States. A special team of the Colombian Police, with the Mexican Navy Secretariat, followed him for several months in Acapulco and other cities where boats, vehicles, luxury apartments were detected, women coming from various countries were followed to locate him,” added the Colombian Police officer after the capture.
