“Bronco” wife called for 'different attention' after former governor's weight loss

Adalina Davalos Martinez, wife of former governor of Nuevo Leon Jaime Heliodoro “N”, revealed that El Bronco has lost about 10 kilos during her stay at the Apocada Prison.

The wife of the Bronco pointed out that the former state president is not being provided with the diet that the doctors of Cereso gave him, but it is the same one that is offered to other inmates.

“To make it clear, because then they are going to say that there is a question of privilege, and no, it is simply a menu, as they do to many who are deprived of their liberty here, when they are in a disease,” Davalos Martínez told various media outlets.

In addition, Adalina Davalos said she was concerned about her husband's state of health after being taken to the Metropolitan Hospital in Monterrey, indicating that weight loss is probably due “to his problems of the disease and the problem of sciatica as well, which have been manifested to her for the past. years, but today it is more noticeable.

“I think he should have a different attention to the question of having taken him alone to the Metropolitan (Hospital) to do nothing more blood studies and a very normal X-ray because it brings up situations that have not been ruled out,” he said.

As regards the Bronco's legal status, it is understood that a federal judge decided to return the case of the former governor of Nuevo León to a judge of state control.

During the last hearing held on April 19, Federal Criminal Judge Pedro Gerardo Álvarez Álvarez del Castillo considered that the case should continue at the state level because the arrest warrant was issued in that area.

On the other hand, it was determined that Jaime Heliodoro “N” will continue to be held in pre-trial detention, a measure with which he has been held since 15 March. Faced with this, his wife said: “We see that they are violating his rights, today it is in legal limbo there is not one, nor another who has wanted to take this case.”

It should be mentioned that in recent days El Bronco was linked to trial for the alleged crime of abuse of authority, derived from an investigation into the case of the requisition of the transport system known in the state as Ecovia.

On the other hand, during his stay at the Metropolitan Hospital in Monterrey, he allegedly suffered from diverticulitis.

The arrival of the Bronco to the hospital became known after photographs were disseminated in which the former regional governor was seen entering on his own foot to the hospital escorted by state security agents.

It was on March 15 that El Bronco was arrested in the municipality of General Terán, Nuevo León, in an operation led by the Specialized Prosecutor's Office for Electoral Crimes and the State Attorney's Office.

These crimes go back to 2018, when Rodríguez Calderón contended as an independent candidate in the presidential elections that same year. The current governor of the state Samuel García, at the time, denounced the alleged obtaining of signatures for his presidential candidacy with the use of public resources.

Samuel García also commented that this is “the tip of the iceberg”, as they target more officials during their tenure at the Monterrey Secretariat of Water and Drainage Services, as well as an investigation kit for alleged fraud in the purchase of COVID-19 tests.
