The president of the Council of Ministers, Aníbal Torres, once again attacked the Peruvian press in an interview he had with the ethnocacerist youtuber, José Luis Flores. On this occasion, he pointed out that the Government is constantly being attacked for going against the power groups, which, he assured, own the Lima media. He also hinted that they will have to start implementing measures with the press.
“For example, we have submitted the bill to Congress to amend the Constitution, banning monopolies, oligopolies. Who is this hurting? To large entrepreneurs who set prices freely. Therefore, the press is not going to speak well of us, it will always speak badly and the population is already realizing this fiction that the press has created,” he added.
This is not the first time that the premier has attacked the press and criticized its work. Previously, he also stated that the attacks by the press were caused by the policies created by the Government, turning criticism into a congratulation for its management. In addition, he has also described the press as a 'mercenary'.
On the other hand, he pointed out that the Executive “has to do something” about the work of the Lima press. Although he did not indicate what they would implement, he did detail that journalist work would, in his opinion, be harming youth.
“We have to do something, of course, also in relation to that because they are already happening. It is a press that is hurting children, it is hurting youth. It is a press that defames, that deceives, that misinforms, and that is harmful to the formation of our childhood, our youth and the formation of our own people, of our own citizens,” said the prime minister.
The Prime Minister participated today in the meeting of the Council of Ministers. During this session, in particular, the proposal of chemical castration for juvenile rapists will be discussed. The proposal was put forward by President Pedro Castillo himself.
ANÍBAL TORRES DECLARES ABOUT REQUEST FOR PARDON FOR ANTAURO HUMALA
In the same interview with José Luis Flores, the head of the ministerial cabinet pointed out that it is not possible to grant pardon to the ethnochacerist, Antauro Humana, who is currently serving 25 years in prison for the seizure of the police station in Andahuaylas in 2005.
He also pointed out that this refusal of presidential grace by the president should not and could not be considered a betrayal, since doing so would mean going against the laws of the country.
“It cannot be regarded as a betrayal of Pedro Castillo, by any means. The thing is that, by the provision of the law, he cannot be pardoned. If we break the law in favor of Antauro , then we will be hit harder and there would be cause for presidential vacancy, for violation of the law, for violation of the Constitution. What is being done there is strictly subject to the law,” he said.
