The Conmebol Competition Directorate announced changes regarding the schedule of Alianza Lima matches in the group stage of the 2022 Copa Libertadores.
The Peruvian team is part of Group F of the continental club tournament along with Argentina's River Plate, Fortaleza of Brazil and Colo Colo from Chile.
The blue and white team played the first home match of the Cup at the National Stadium in Lima that resulted in defeat to River Plate in the debut. Then, as arranged between the club and Conmebol, the fixture as a local indicated that their matches would be played at the Alejandro Villanueva de Matute stadium.
However, the organization announced changes in the venue of the matches in Peru of the intimate team that have two remaining matches at home. In this way, Alianza will be local at the National Stadium where it will put its future in the Libertadores at stake.
The team led by coach Carlos Bustos will not be able to count on the heat of the fan in Matute, but will be able to receive more fans in the Nacional, which has the greatest spectator capacity.
Alianza Lima will have two games in Lima in a row. He will first play at the home of the Peruvian national team against Colo Colo on the 4th date and a week later he will face Fortaleza for the fifth day.
So far the 'La Victoria' team has not managed to score any points in the standings of the Copa Libertadores. In the premiere he lost to the 'Millionario', then fell to the 'Cacique' in Santiago and with zero units he ranks third in the F series alongside Fortaleza (4th) who did not add up either. The leader (1st with 6 points) is River, with the same score as Colo Colo (2nd by goal difference)
In his last match, the 'intimate' club beat Universitario 4-1 for the Peruvian football classic as a visitor at the Monumental stadium, which allowed him to score 11 points, get out of the bottom of the league 1 2022 table and regain motivation for his next commitment to the local tournament against Academia Cantolao on April 23.
