With popular action they seek to suspend the National Registrar Alexander Vega

New complications are added to the questioned Registrar Alexander Vega, now through popular action the constitutionalist Germán Calderón Spain seeks to provisionally suspend Vega from office as a precautionary measure, this in order to prevent the irregularities presented on March 13 in the legislative elections from returning to to happen next Sunday, May 29 in the presidential elections.

Constitutionalist Calderón stated: “I will bring before an administrative judge a popular constitutional action, to restore the collective right violated to administrative morality on account of all the inconsistencies in the electoral counting and scrutiny of the National Civil Status Registry, as a precautionary measure I request the provisional suspension of the office of Mr. Registrar Alexander Vega Rocha”.

On administrative morality, the official website of the Mayor's Office of Bogotá states: “as a principle of public service, it is an interpretative precept of compulsory reference for the legal operator; and, as a collective right, it allows judicial control by the community, through popular action”.

The popular constitutional action brought by Germán Calderón came after the statements of Registrar General Vega, where he indicated that there are a million votes of difference between the pre-count and the electoral count, and he also pointed out that a large part of the errors were committed by the voting juries.

Calderón also trinked his official networks, indicating what had been done before the administrative judge: “I brought popular action for violation of public morality in electoral results. Anyone wishing to contribute simply send an email addressed to Administrative Court 21 Bogotá at correscanbta@cendoj.ramajudicial.gov.co saying COADJUVO popular action rdo: 2022-00132-00″.

Registrar Alexander Vega has been the target of criticism following the legislative elections that took place on March 13 in Colombia. This is due to the irregularities that have been evidenced and the huge difference that there was between the pre-count and the counting, where in the Senate there was a difference of about 1,026,000 votes. Citizens and different political fronts call for his resignation from office, while others hope that for the presidential elections to be held an ad hoc registrar will be appointed.

“On our part, we recognize that in the design of the form we should have made at least the box of the Historical Pact. Looking at this moment what it would have been if we had redesigned the E-14 form, perhaps the digitization or pre-counting would have been much simpler, but we would have a situation: we would also have badly filled out studs”, assured the national registrar in Noticias RCN.

Vega pointed out that another factor that was presented is that around 23,000 forms were poorly filled out by voting juries. “We found that, in 5,109 tables a possible malice is demonstrated, because in addition to filling out the forms in the wrong way, there were crosses out of the candidates' votes,” said Vega, who confirmed that these irregularities have already been made known to the Prosecutor and Prosecutor's Office.
