The Argentinian comedy Casi Feliz marked its great return to Netflix with the release of a second season. Created and starring Sebastián Wainraich and directed by Hernán Guerschuny, the story follows Seba, a radio host who is going through the crisis of the 40s and trying to build a better relationship with his dysfunctional family. Regarding the premiere of the new episodes, the platform exclusively shared the behind the scenes.
According to the official synopsis, in this new installment “Sebastian deepens the conflicts with all his ties: with his ex-wife, pregnant with another man, with his children, who grow up and face him, with his co-workers, who respect him less and less, with his brother, who questions him every step he takes in life and, above all, things, with himself. What could be a drama, becomes permanent comedy, sometimes comfortable, sometimes awkward. Can Sebastian finally be happy?”
In addition to Wainraich, the cast is made up of Natalie Pérez as Pilar; Santiago Korovsky as Parasol; Peto Menahem as Gaston; Julieta Diaz as Cecilia Ferrari; Carla Peterson as Eva; Benjamin Amadeo as Leon Levy; Miguel Angel Podestá as Facundo; Sofia Guerschuny as Francisca; Lucas Wainraich as Felipe (Operator); and Kiara Wainraich as Luna, daughter of Cecilia Ferrari.
Almost Happy is a series that explores the grief behind the separation of a couple, loneliness, failure and the need to try again despite age. With the passage of the episodes, we are getting to know a character with a degree of realism and closeness to people who deal with this feeling that everything has passed over them at this stage of life, however, there are ways to cope with it and ties with loved ones will be extremely important to achieve it.
The mind behind the hit Argentinian comedy on Netflix
Sebastián Wainraich is a 47-year-old Argentine presenter, actor, screenwriter and comedian. His professional beginnings took place on radio, in alternative stations or neighborhoods in Buenos Aires. Later, he worked on major radio stations in programs of various kinds and made his television debut with a scriptwriter for Perdidos en el espacio for the América TV signal. In the mid-2000s, he joined the cast of the entertainment program Duro de domar broadcast by El Trece. On the other hand, he served for several years as a conductor of the radio segment Metro y medio.
In 2018, he made his big leap to Netflix with the global launch of his stand up comed show titled Sebastián Marcelo Wainraich. Two years later, the streaming giant released the first season of the comedy Almost Happy and, in February 2021, the renewal for one more installment was officially announced. On April 13, the new chapters were released that continue to tell the daily life of Seba.
