The best video games of The Simpsons

This April 19 The Simpsons celebrates 35 years of history. The famous yellow family, created by Matt Groening, was first seen on April 19, 1987 on the Tracey Ullman show. That day the comedian, who was premiering a program on Fox, announced that an animated short would be broadcast before going to the court.

It was 88 seconds in which the yellow family burst onto the screen. This was the first steps of these characters that became a cult series and gave rise to a large number of commercial articles, including an important variety of video games.

1. The Simpsons (1991)

First on the list is The Simpsons, developed by Konami and available for Arcade, Commodore 64, PC, XBLA and PSN. It was the first in the franchise and a real revolution when it hit the market. 2. Bart Vs. the Space Mutants (1991)

In this game Bart is the protagonist: he must stop the mutants, who have appeared in several episodes of the series, so that they do not dominate the world. You must obtain certain items to make it to the next level. An important feature is that Bart can only withstand two direct hits, if he does not lose, unless he gets enough coins to compare an additional life. When he loses, Bart says “Eat my pants”, the classic phrase of this character.

There are versions for the Atari ST, Commodore Amiga, Commodore 64, Commodore 128, ZX Spectrum, PC DOS, Amstrad CPC, Nintendo Entertainment System, Master System, Mega Drive and Sega Game Gear systems.

3. Krusty’s Fun House (1992)

Here the protagonist is the clown Krusty, who aims to destroy all the rats that invaded his “House of Fun “or Krusty Brand Fun House. The user must use different objects, with which rats are marked the way to guide them to the device that will destroy them. At each level, these gadgets are controlled by different characters including Bart Simpson and Homer Simpson. It was developed by Acclaim Entertainment for the Nintendo Entertainment System, Master System, Game Boy and Sega Game Gear video consoles

4. Bart’s nightmare (1992)

Immersed in a nightmare, Bart has to search for the pages of his missing assignment in order to obtain a good grade, otherwise he will be failed. 5. Virtual Springfield (1997)

6. Night of the living Treehouse Horror (2001)

The souls of the yellow characters are trapped in that house and to save themselves they have to overcome several obstacles that are presented in the 7 levels that the game has.

7. The Simpsons: Road Rage (2001)

The objective is to take the characters of the series to the different destinations indicated on the map. There are different vehicles available that can be chosen at the start of the game: cars, trucks, rockets and flying ships. It has versions for PlayStation 2, Nintendo GameCube, Xbox and Game Boy Advance.

8. The Simpsons: Hit & Run (2003)

The Simpsons Hit & Run is about a possible alien invasion in Springfield. The game is divided into seven levels, and in each of them there are missions to complete. The title is very similar to the video game in the Grand Theft Auto saga by Rockstar Games. The game went on sale for GameCube, Xbox, PlayStation 2 and Windows on September 16, 2003 in the United States,

9. The Simpsons Game (2007)

In this game, developed by Electronic Arts, you can play as Bart, Lisa, Marge or Homer, who will try to use their powers to help them stop an alien threat. Homer can become Homerball; Bart can become Bartman; Lisa can use a Buddha's hand to hypnotize her enemies with the saxophone, and Marge can control the people of Springfield by means of a megaphone.

The game has 16 levels and all have some connection to the chapters of The Simpsons, so it is full of parodies and winks that viewers of the series will understand. It is available for Wii, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PlayStation 2, Nintendo DS and PlayStation Portable consoles

10. The Simpsons Tapped Out (2012)

Homer caused an explosion by accident and destroyed Springfield. This is how this game begins in which the user must rebuild the city that has been left in the ruins again. It's free and available in the Apple Store, Play Store, and Amazon Store.
