Tarapoto: subject murdered one-year-old baby to elope to live with mother

A new case of murder of a minor has been recorded in the city of Tarapoto, after a subject killed a baby as young as one year old in order to escape with the mother and “rebuild” his life away from his hometown.

Pío Huamán Valqui, 50, confessed to the police that he took the life of a one-year-old and ten-month-old baby, and threw his body in a ditch because he intended to “start a new life” next to the child's mother, who is also his niece.

Without any act of remorse, this murderer detailed how he planned the death of the minor, since for the couple it was a “hindrance” and interfered with their future plans. With such cynicism, he assured that he strangled the baby and then disposed of the body.

During the reconstruction of the events, the man told the National Police, every detail of this macabre event that has shocked all the inhabitants of the Black Forest hamlet in Pelejo. It is worth mentioning that the authorities also intervened with the baby's mother, Jazmín Torres Muñoz, as she would have also participated in this crime that is now being investigated by the Dirincri unit.

According to the minor's grandmother, she confirmed that the murder was planned, since the baby's mother was planning to run away with Huamán Valqui. “Because they wanted to live together, they were going to run away and wanted to get rid of the baby,” Rosa Elemira López told América Noticias.

After the latest reports from the police, it was announced that the minor disappeared last Thursday, at 5 pm in the Black Forest hamlet in Pelejo. The next day, the baby's mother, Jazmín Torres reported the case at the police station.

After several hours of searching by the police, the minor's body was found in the ditch of a farm in the Porvenir Pelejo district in Tarapoto. The body was found without garments from the waist down. Later, thanks to the statements of the baby's grandmother, they managed to intervene and take them to the police unit both subjects for the crime of this infant.

FATHER OF THE CHILD ASKS FOR JUSTICE

Ivan Hernández, father of the murdered baby, demands justice, since he said that on several occasions he told the child's mother that she can keep the child so that she can rebuild her life, but she refused to hand over the child to him. “Let it be clarified why they did that to my son, that child was not to blame”

Likewise, the inhabitants of this area took to the streets to demand the maximum penalty for this confessed murderer. They also requested that the mother be tried and the full weight of the law should fall.

Through the Ministry of Women's Affairs, it was learned that Minister Diana Miloslavich came to the city of Tarapoto to follow this case closely and thus request to the Public Prosecutor's Office to take action in the matter so that this and other cases recorded in recent weeks do not go unpunished.
