After his remarkable presentation at the 2022 Oscar Awards gala, Sebastián Yatra continues to garner international recognition. And the fact is that that presentation of 'Two caterpillars' held on March 27 at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles was a source of pride for many Colombians, not only because a national artist sang for the first time at the Academy Awards gala, but also because of the symbols that represented Colombia in the film ' Charm'.

Now, the 27-year-old performer will have a new appearance internationally, this time from the Latin American Music Awards, whose 2022 edition will be held next Thursday, April 21 from six in the afternoon with a broadcast on the Telemundo channel. Urban stars such as Bad Bunny, Jhay Cortez, Luis Fonsi and Farruko, among others, will star in the Latin AMAs gala.

In keeping with the tradition of the American Music Awards, this edition of the festival will pay tribute to the most important and renowned Latin artists over the past year; that is why other figures from the urban genre such as Myke Towers, Colombian-American Kali Uchis and Argentina's María Becerra will be present.

It is worth mentioning that in 2021 the Latin AMAs had as protagonists Ricky Martin, Prince Royce, Carrie Underwood and Colombia, Maluma stood out, and the awards given to Shakira and Karol G, who were recently recognized for the presentation of the paisa at the Coachella festival.

In this version of the contest, in addition to the urban exponents already mentioned, Colombian artists such as Camilo and, precisely, Karol G, who in 2021 won the award in the categories 'Single of the Year' and 'Favourite Song-Urbano' for 'Tusa', performed in collaboration with Nicki Minaj.

Carolina Giraldo - the first name of the artist paisa - was one of the most nominated in the 2021 edition with a total of nine applications, the same ones that J Balvin had, and this year they did not disappoint, since both received seven nominations. On the other hand, Bad Bunny is the artist with the highest number of applications with 10.

For his part, Sebastián Yatra is nominated in three categories: 'Favorite Artist-Pop', 'Favorite Song-Pop' (for 'The Couple of the Year' in collaboration with Myke Towers'), and 'Viral Song of the Year' for his single 'Red Heels'.
