Reinaldo Rueda did not receive compensation after his departure from the Colombia national team

Last Monday, April 18, the Colombian Football Federation (FCF) confirmed through a statement the departure of Reinaldo Rueda from the Tricolor bench, which he failed to qualify for Qatar 2022.

Since he took the lead of the Colombia national team, the former Atlético Nacional has led a total of 22 matches with a record of seven wins, 10 draws and five losses.

During an interview with Mañanas Blu of Blu Radio, Ramón Jesurún, president of the Colombian Football Federation, spoke for the first time about the elimination of the national team from the next World Cup event.

Likewise, the president of the federation told how the departure of the vallecaucano was presented in the face of several rumors that arose once Rueda's non-continuity in the Colombia national team was made official.

First, he revealed that the governing body of Colombian professional football did not have to pay compensation to the former Chilean coach, and it was by mutual agreement that they sealed the disengagement of the coffee coach.

In this way, the version that was handled that Reinaldo Rueda would remain in his position as coach until June is distorted.

Regarding the choice of the new coach of the national team, Jesurún was precise and stated that the first task is to define the situation of the former Flamengo coach from Brazil.

Regarding names, Ramón Jesurún responded during an interview with Caracol Radio's 6AM Hoy por Hoy that they have not established contact with any coach in reference to the rumors of Argentine Marcelo Bielsa.

The manager also commented that prior to the world cup, Colombia could play some friendly commitments with world cup teams from Asia and the old continent looking to take a break with South American teams.
