Pedro Gallese recalled phrase dedicated to Chileans after qualifying for Russia 2018: “This is where it happened and it stayed here”

Pedro Gallese spoke with MisterChip in a recent interview on the platform Twitch and revealed the response that some Peruvian footballers gave to Chilean players after qualifying for the Russia 2018 World Cup. All based on the message that the selected 'La Roja' left at the National Stadium in the framework of the South American Qualifiers.

After being crowned Copa America champions twice and after beating the Peruvian national team 4-3 in Lima, a message was recorded in the locker room of colossus José Díaz. “Respect, the Champion of America passed through here”, could be seen painted in the dressing rooms. This caused great laughter for the renowned communicator, who usually reveals data and statistics for different championships, clubs, national teams and athletes. Then the 'Octopus' ended this part of the conversation by saying that there is no quarrel with the players, but they always want to win those matches against Chile because they are a classic.

Now Pedro Gallese is preparing with the Peruvian national team to play a new repechage. The match will be played on June 13 in Doha from 1:00pm (Peruvian time) and its rival will come out of the match between Australia and the United Arab Emirates. Without succeeding in passing the repechage, he will settle in group D of the World Cup together with France, Denmark and Tunisia. And as happened in Russia 2018, he will see each other again with Danes and Frenchmen.

With 26 points in the standings, the Peruvian national team qualified for a world championship after 36 years. A 1-1 draw on the last date against Colombia ended up placing the two squads into the top five places and leaving out Chile and Paraguay, who played on date 18 with options to reach Russia 2018, but were left out after losing to Brazil and Venezuela, respectively. This caused 'La Roja' not to attend a World Cup after being present in the last two editions: South Africa 2010 and Brazil 2014.

Peru had yet to pass the repechage and the rival was New Zealand. In the first leg they were tied without goals and in the return the 'white' roja 'beat the Oceania team 2-0. The first goal came from Jefferson Farfan and the second by Christian Ramos.

GALLESE'S NEXT MATCH

His next match for Orlando City will be this Wednesday, April 20 against Tampa Bay Rowdies, in the framework of the thirty-finals of the US Open Cup. The meeting will begin at 06:00 p.m. (Peruvian time).
