“This is part of the threats we receive every blessed day”, so was María Josefina Gamboa Torales, a deputy for the National Action Party (PAN), denounced having been a victim “of the rancor that Movimiento Nacional Regeneration (Morena) sows daily against the opposition”.
Through her social networks, the blue and white woman reported that a subject followed the vehicle in which she was transporting with her husband from the Fiesta Americana Hotel in Reforma - where the unit was delivered with a low air tire.
Faced with this, the couple had to stop blocks later to make the tire change; not before, he stressed, that the car of the first accused would “pair” with that of the official to ask for directions.
“Before we stopped we got hit by a car (...) to ask us something. We didn't know what he was asking us, about a gas station or something. He told us he needed gas or something,” he explained in a video on Twitter.
Thus, while Maryjose (as is on her account) and her husband were changing the affected tire, another alleged perpetrator took the opportunity to steal the belongings and personal documents that the victims had inside the van (bags, credentials, cards, money, among other things).
Despite the fact that the crime was committed in broad daylight, Gamboa Torales criticized the lack of security cameras in the area, as well as security elements to assist them: “The police never arrived no matter how much we warned. In front there are policemen who were on the Metrobús. They saw everything and they didn't even move,” he lashed out.
Due to the modus operandi with which the crime was orchestrated, the panista asserted that it had been planned directly against her and, she hinted, with other types of intentions besides theft.
“Obviously they were waiting for us. Obviously it was more than planned (...) It may well have been that they tried to do something for us if I don't take out the phone and start recording the car,” he said.
Thus, the legislator held Morena and the president, Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO) responsible for the act, because of the disqualifications that the tabasqueño throws against his opponents from the podium in the morning: “It is your responsibility solely and exclusively”.
This, with special focus following the rejection of the opposition side to the Electricity Reform and for which it was rejected after failing to reach the qualified majority. Under this tenor, the blue and white sentenced what it considered to be “a threat” by the opposing bloc.
“This is what you achieve, President, every damn morning to stop and attack those who don't think like you (...) Is this what you want for opponents? Well, there you go. Persecuted and all the time seeing what is going to happen to us”, he condemned.
After sharing what happened, the Office of the Attorney General of Justice (FGJ) of Mexico City (CDMX) contacted the official to follow up on the case and initiate the relevant investigations.
