During the weekend of Easter, one of the most violent events in the history of live concerts in Mexico occurred: a man stabbed a woman on several occasions in the middle of a musical performance of the Mexican regional. During the last presentation of Paco Barrón and his Norteños Clan, the video was recorded, which is now viral on the internet.
Although the events took place last Saturday, April 16 and there was silence about it on the part of the group, now the vocalist has made the first statements about what happened, regretting the situation and assuring that on behalf of their musicians they condemn the gender-based violence against women, as well as they thank the intervention of the public and the authorities who reacted quickly to save the victim's life.
“In less than a minute the incident happened, according to the ex-husband of this woman... I am really impressed and indignant because I am going to tell you something I felt very helpless because I don't like them doing that to women,” she began to relate to the cameras of the morning TV Azteca, Venga La Alegría.
Barrón assured that his way of acting so spontaneously and quickly allowed the situation not to go unpunished, because without letting go of the microphone he began to ask the fans of the band for help to locate a patrol and an ambulance by means of a call, a request that was more than understood since it happened that way and now it is also why applauded on social media.
“The person wanted to run away and that's why I went and ran to where he was walking and I was the one who spoke because thanks to that was the way they submitted him and they already talked to the authorities,” he added.
The singer of tunes such as Mil Rosas en el Cielo, Red Card and If Life Ask Me also gave more details of how it was possible that the security team of the place did not notice the knife that the man possessed and with which he tried to attack his former partner: “There was security, there was everything... I want to think that this person was gave the task early, I don't know, go as someone who went to buy their tickets, I don't want to get ahead of things because it really is serious,” he said.
On behalf of Norteños Clan, Barrón mentioned that none of this is advertising as some media and social media users have been speculating since last weekend, as well as saying that they would never do something like this:
“The subject is regrettable because there is a lot to think that I may be advertising through this and the people who have known me, or my career, for 28 years know perfectly well that I don't do that kind of advertising,” he concluded.
In the municipality of Montemorelos, Nuevo León, things surpassed the group security team because while the vocalist mentioned to the attendees that he hoped everyone could enjoy the show and even joked about sending them to the person who sells flowers, at the back of the stage a woman in a yellow shirt tried to flee of her attacker, who with a knife stabbed her in the lower abdomen until she fell from the stage.
“Talk to the police “, were the words that Paco Barrón immediately mentioned while the rest of the musicians stopped everything and ran to get close to her to try to help her or grab the white-shirted aggressor. The crowd screamed and tried to see what happened while others did not hesitate to run to their aid.
