As the days go by, more details are known about Juan Antonio Enríquez García, who became the 'Chiclayo Monster' after kidnapping, torturing and raping a three-year-old girl. The first investigations by the Peruvian National Police indicate that the sex offender would belong to a pedophilia network.
In his confession to the authorities, Enríquez García stated that he recorded the minor while sexually violating her while intoxicated. “I took her home, in order to rape her because I was drunk. (...) I met her at night when I put her in my car when I saw that she was alone,” he said.
“The minor you see in the videos is the one I kidnapped in my car and took her to my bedroom and that's where I sexually filmed her with my cell phone,” she added to the PNP agents.
The latter set off the alarms of the authorities, who assume that the graphic material recorded by Juan Antonio Enríquez García would be syndicated to a child pornography network.
“This subject would belong to a criminal network dedicated to the publication or exchange of these illicit videos in the aggrievance of minors. That cell phone has already been seized and is being sent to the city of Lima for the corresponding expertise,” said the victim's lawyer, Juan Carlos Días, about this hypothesis.
Along these lines, Dias specified that it is now necessary to carry out all the corresponding investigations, in the nine months of pretrial detention, to determine whether he should be sentenced to life imprisonment.
RUMBO A CHALLAPALCA
Between today and tomorrow, the 'Chiclayo Monster' will be transferred to the Challapalca prison where he will serve the 9 months of preventive detention that a judge gave him for attacking, kidnapping and abusing sexually of a child under the age of 3, according to the Minister of Justice, Felix Chero.
As explained by the holder of the portfolio, first, INPE personnel will transfer Enríquez García to Lima, and then take him to the maximum security prison located in Tacna, where the most dangerous criminals and murderers in the country are located, such as Joran Van der Sloot, Carlos Timana Copara, Gerald Oropeza (Tony Montana), Gerson Galvez (Caracol), among others.
For his part, Juan Guillermo Piscoya, president of the Superior Court of Justice of Lambayeque (CSJL), said that the variation of penalties has nothing to do with the execution of his sanction and that these changes do not alter the investigation process, much less the responsibility of the accused.
Speaking to the press, Piscoya said that virtuality is a timely tool to hold the hearings scheduled in this case. He assured that, from the judiciary, they guarantee speed and probity in the process, but that everything is now in the hands of the Public Ministry, who is in charge of the investigations after the inclusion of this subject in a prison.
“A possible transfer will not be an impediment to hearings taking place within the established deadlines and with the guarantees of law. The offences are very serious and punishable by life imprisonment. The judiciary, in due course, will determine the responsibility or not of this person, but for this it is required that the Public Prosecutor's Office formulate the accusation,” he said.
