María Fernanda Cabal attacked Residente because of the demands she made to give a concert in Peru

The Colombian senator did not miss the opportunity to speak about the controversy that the Puerto Rican artist unleashed in the neighboring country

A lot of controversy arose a few days ago, after learning about the unusual requirements that Residente, a former member of the group Calle 13, asked the organizers of a concert he gave four years ago in Peru.

According to the list of demands leaked by César Ramos, owner of the production company Masterlive and responsible for that event (Vivo x el rock 2018), the Puerto Rican musician requested several armored cars and a presidential suite in one of the best hotels in the country, which greatly mismatched his budget.

The reactions to these words were immediate, considering that Residente is one of the artists who often speaks out against opulences and, in fact, in his recent fight with J Balvin criticized his colleague for showing a life full of luxuries.

In addition, fans of the performer of 'This is not America' were surprised that he was one of the most eccentric, at a festival that brought together other music stars, such as The Offspring, Drake Bell, Juanes, Deftones, Enrique Bunbury, Zoé, Alan Walker, Wizard of Oz, Charly Black, among many others.

So much was the controversy generated by the information shared by the Peruvian businessman, that Colombian Senator María Fernanda Cabal took the opportunity to comment on it and attacked René Pérez Joglar (the artist's first name) for his “double standard”.

And although Residente did not heed Cabal's words, several of his followers in Colombia came to his defense and told the Democratic Center militant that he earned his fortune with a lot of effort. In addition, they reiterated that defending social movements and equality do not make the artist a “communist” person.

However, there were also those who agreed with the opinion of la vallecaucana and stated that Puerto Rican is often contradictory to his speeches.

“If you ask, María Fernanda Cabal is not Colombian”, “Aren't you tired of making us embarrass before the rest of the world?” , “I'm sorry to say, but this time she's right” and “this woman should help J Balvin to shoot Residente”; were some of the comments that the publication provoked.

For now the controversy seems to have ended there, although comments about René Pérez are still appearing on social networks, in which some wonder if he still makes such demands to appear in certain Latin American countries, since they state that if they do so they will stop attending.
