Carmen Campuzano was considered during the 1990s as one of the most beautiful women in Mexico, however, after acquiring a bacterium called leptospirosis, starting multiple aesthetic treatments and falling into addictions, the appearance of the famous changed radically over the years.
That is why after being sober for a decade, the model revealed during an interview with TVyNovelas that she is finally starting to feel comfortable with herself and added that she recently had an intervention that helped her to be better.
“Yes, I just had surgery on my nose, the doctor gave him much more protection, and the operation turned out wonderful. It was fortunate that I finally found the doctor who gave me what I needed, I had never been satisfied,” she said.
Similarly, Campuzano delved into the fact that this specialist was very professional and that helped the celebrity to leave behind certain situations that were detrimental to her working life.
“This Mexican specialist committed to me and has given me back to being able to live again many things that limited me, the problem of my nose, with my work,” he said.
Among some things that the model hopes to resume are photo shoots, attending programs and everything related to her image. He also noted that for many years the appearance of that part of his face affected him greatly.
“Carmen is not just a nose. I am a person with a lot of personality, very prepared and full of virtues as well as defects, but rather I was already pigeonholed in that part and it was the subject of many media. Then they obviously stigmatize you.”
Carmen Campuzano stated that she will still need another nose job, but first she will have to recover from this last intervention.
It is worth remembering that it was during an old interview in El Minuto that my fate changed, that Campuzano opened up about the leptospirosis bacteria he contracted, which is potentially dangerous and can cause serious infections.
“It is a disease that is still being investigated, it has many manifestations, you turn yellow, your ethmoid zone becomes inflamed, your central nervous system attacks, it is called hemorrhagic leptospirosis because you turn yellow and it causes bleeding,” shared the supermodel.
In that meeting with Gustavo Adolfo Infante, the actress pointed out that she did not know exactly where she acquired the bacteria, but she did say that it was a very difficult period in her life, since she knew that was not the only factor that influenced her change in appearance, since her strong addiction to cocaine also complicated the situation.
“I knew that my problem was not only bacteria but also drug use and the doctor knew that I was using drugs because I had the confidence to tell him I am living this. It was a very difficult stage for me,” said the actress.
In this sense, it is known that Campuzano was hospitalized many times in rehabilitation clinics and was even on the verge of death due to an overdose. Regarding aesthetic surgeries, she has undergone more than six in order to improve her appearance.
However, in another interview for the program Mimí Contigo, Carmen even pointed out that many doctors, including doctors who participated in the reality show Botched, refused to help her with her nose reconstruction because of the risks they would pose to her.
