Patricia Chirinos of Avanza Pais, presented a proposal for a motion for interpellation against Minister Betssy Chavez, head of the Labour and Employment Promotion portfolio.
“Betssy Chavez's irresponsibility in the air traffic controllers' strike left thousands of tourists stranded, generating millions of losses for the country. Faced with this and other mismanagement in the MTPE, I have filed a motion for interpellation against the Minister of Labour,” the legislator wrote on her Twitter account.
Faced with this, the political party Fuerza Popular, also joined this request and assured that they will support the initiative of Congresswoman Chirinos.
It is worth mentioning that this formally presented document includes 17 questions about the air traffic controllers strike that caused thousands of people to miss their flights during the last Holy Week. Likewise, the motion entered is supported by 21 signatures from the bench of leader Keiko Fujimori.
QUESTIONS INCLUDED IN THE MOTION FOR INTERPELLATION AGAINST CHAVEZ
“For you to say, what are the reasons why the strike by air traffic controllers was declared appropriate? For you to say, were there technical reports prior to the approval of the air traffic controllers strike? Which ones?” , are some of the questions contained in the interpelatory statement.
At another point in this document, there are also these questions:
“Why were there no preventive measures taken to face the air traffic controllers strike?”

REASONS FOR CHIRINOS THAT DRIVES MOTION FOR INTERPELLATION
In the document presented this afternoon Patricia Chirinos, you can read the parliamentarian's justification for presenting this request to the Plenary Congress.
“There are various questions as to their suitability and impartiality for office. In this regard, they highlight her lack of intellectual honesty in carrying out her thesis to opt for the title of lawyer, her links with persons involved in the crime of trafficking in land and money laundering, as well as other questions that call into question her transparency in holding such a high-profile position.”
The interpelatory document also contains questions about the increase in the minimum living wage, formalized by Supreme Decree No. 003-2022-TR, and the authorization to the air traffic controllers strike that left economic losses amounting to S/ 40 million, according to Carlos Canales, president of the Peruvian National Chamber of Tourism ( Canatur).
