Daniel Martínez and other Colombian cyclists who will compete in the Flecha Valona 2022

The second classic of the triptych of the Ardennes, the Walloon Arrow, will be played this Wednesday, April 20 in Belgium. The route increases 10 km in distance to make it more complex and will have the well-known Mur de Huy as the point where the finish line will be placed after 202.1 km, while the start will be in Blegny.

The competition, which only takes place in one day, will have in its list of runners several of the most important stars of the world peloton, who will give an unmissable spectacle at the sporting level for the victory of the 86th edition of the flamenco race.

On the part of the Colombians, Daniel Felipe Martínez was confirmed by his squad Ineos Grenadiers as one of the main cards of the team to seek a good result, however, he will be together with other great representatives who could have the same intention as the Colombian such as Michal Kwiatkowski and Tom Pidcock.

Rigoberto Urán will also be present at the Flecha Valona together with his EF Education EasyPost team, this being his 8th participation in the classic, after finishing the Tour of the Basque Country, he himself will confirm his next races.

Winner Anacona will be another of the Colombians who will take the game in the Ardennes classic, together with Arkea Samsic, who has placed him as a gregarious of Warren Barguil especially for the most difficult mountain passes.

The neo-professional Jesús David Peña, would be taking the game with the Australian Team BikeExchange, premiering in this type of racing.

The Spaniard Alejandro Valverde from the Movistar Team will also reappear there after retiring from the Vuelta a Catalunya 2022. The man from Murcia is one of the favorites to win the title, since in his personal account he already has 5 wins in this competition (2006, 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017).

But for that they will have to face world champion Julian Alaphilippe of the Quick Step Alpha Vinyl who has already won three editions (2018, 2019 and 2021). In addition, Jumbo Visma will lead a fairly strong team looking to keep this edition of the Walloon Arrow, including Danish Jonas Vingegaard and Belgian Tiesj Benoot.
