Last week a thief was killed after trying to steal a couple who were walking at dawn through the Provenza neighborhood, in the city of Bucaramanga. After a judicial process, a judge of the Republic released the two persons involved in the case, since the action against the 28-year-old was in self-defense, taking into account the context in which the murder took place, so they were exempted from responsibility.
According to some national media, the events took place in the early morning of the weekend of April 9. The couple were sharing when from one moment to another they were embraced by a guy who tried to steal them. To intimidate them, the criminal drew a sharp weapon and threatened them, but contrary to what was expected, the couple confronted him and managed to disarm him.
The testimony given by the defendants indicated that at the time of the struggle with the thief, the subject was seriously injured, he was taken to a hospital in the area where he was treated but a few hours later he died due to the cut he received.
According to the authorities, due to the acts of their own free will, the couple surrendered to the authorities. Well, at the time it happened, all the inhabitants of the area called the police who arrived immediately.
The newspaper of Q'hubo mentioned that in the investigation carried out the authorities found the murder weapon, a motorcycle on which the offender intended to flee; and when searching the database it was found that the deceased person records 21 court records for the crimes of: theft, drug trafficking, personal injury , escape of prisoners and violence against public servants.
A similar case occurred in the city of Bogotá, in the town of Bosa, where a criminal was killed after trying to rob a woman who was championed by her romantic partner. Videos of a security camera revealed by the Bosa Bella portal show that the couple was moving along the platform and reached the corner.
At that point they met up front with a man who was walking and carrying a bicycle. The subject, without much thought, pointed in the face of the citizen who was walking next to his wife, apparently with a firearm, and the victim walked away. He handed him what he asked for and the man got on the bicycle to flee.
As he walked away at a slow pace and after he had achieved his task. The victim drew a weapon on his belt and reportedly shot him several times. The thief fell to the ground motionless and would have died on the spot from the impacts.
The victim of the theft and the shooter approached the subject again on the ground and remained there. Several neighbors arrived at the scene and listened to the detonations to see what had happened and the authorities soon arrived.
The event would have occurred in the afternoon of this April 11 in the vicinity of the Leonardo Posada Pedraza school. In addition, the woman who met the man who shot, was pregnant.
Lieutenant Colonel Jader Llenera, inspection officer of the Bogotá Metropolitan Police, informed Citynoticias that the man who shot voluntarily presented himself to the authorities with the weapon he used. He was a retired military man who would have used a pistol he owned.
A traumatic weapon type revolver r was found in the body of the victim, with which he intimidated the couple to steal them, and he died immediately on the spot from the impacts. Lieutenant Llenera affirmed that the investigation of the facts is continuing, which are still under the understanding of self-defense and legitimate use of force.
