The Italian competition for under 23 riders had as distance in the same town of Negrar 147 km of route on a circuit in which they had to turn the route 5 laps, having to climb that same number of times the Colle Masua, which had 1.9 km to 6.2% incline and the Jago of 1.7 km and 6.9%.
In the end, after the 5 laps they had to climb a hard port in Negrar, the Fane, which comprised 7.3 km at 6.6% incline. There, the runners with the most ability in climbing would get an important light on the rest of the runners who managed to survive after the repetition of the previous slopes and who left the legs worn out of many.
Seven Colombian cyclists were enlisted in the competition, 4 of them with the national team Colombia Tierra de Atletes led by Professor Luis Alfonso Cely, who has already had great moments with the team, getting even some riders to be seen by the World Tour teams in Europe.
As was the case with Boyacán Diego Andrés Camargo, who went from doing some races in Italy in 2020 with the coffee team to winning the Vuelta de la Juventud and the Vuelta a Colombia in the same year and then being recruited by the EF Education EasyPost where Rigoberto Urán plays.

The rest of the Colombian cyclists showed up with their respective teams where they every time they give important pedals in order to become professionals and reach the top category of world cycling to which riders of the caliber of Nairo Quintana, Egan Bernal and Fernando Gaviria belong today, to name a few.
Under a low temperature, the competition began in its 59th edition this Tuesday, April 19. The high pace of the race made the difference when it came to choosing the protagonists of the day, as the wear was gradually noticeable on the legs of the cyclists, with some barely getting out.

The toughness of the competition was already known, as riders won there who later became great stars of world pedalism such as the retired Swiss cyclist Fabian Cancellara in 2000 or the still current Australian sprinter Caleb Ewan in 2013.
The Colombians stood out above all on the part of Colombia Tierra de Atletes who managed to put Edgar Andrés Pinzón in second position on the podium only behind the champion and distinguished French rider Romain Grégoire of the FDJ continental team.
Third on the podium was Norwegian Johannes Staune-Mittet of the Jumbo Visma Development Team. Germán Darío Gomez achieved 8th place in the standings showing that they have worked together and synchronized to be among the best riders in the Italian competition.
The other Colombians concluded their work as gregarious for their teams, being key in achieving the results obtained this Tuesday.
