Clash between trailer and bus caused the closure of the Mexico-Puebla highway

The impact between the two heavy vehicles resulted in a fire that consumed both units

The Mexico-Puebla highway was closed by federal authorities after the collision between a bus and a trailer caused a strong fire, which consumed both heavy vehicles.

The accident occurred at kilometer 42 of the highway in the direction of Mexico City, before reaching the San Marcos booth located between the Mexican municipalities of Ixtapaluca and Chalco.

Personnel from the National Guard highway division came to the scene to secure the site and stop traffic in both directions in order to avoid further risks.

“Take Precautions in #EdoMex continues to close traffic due to completion of maneuvers, after #AccidenteVial near km 042+900 highway (1710) Mexico-Puebla, same stretch. Emergency services personnel and #GuardiaNacional provide on-site support,” the agency wrote on its Twitter account.
