Ricardo Mendoza and Jorge Luna, from Speaking Huevadas, they are still in the eye of the storm for having done jokes about people with Down syndrome in one of his presentations. In addition to the various institutions that have come out to reject its content, Carlos Alcántara joined the rain of criticism, making it clear that little or nothing matters to him one of the comedians is from his own family.

Recall that the national actor is the uncle of Ricardo Mendoza, whom he included in his biographical film “Asu Mare”. However, that has not prevented him from raising his voice of protest against the controversial duo. The popular 'Cachín', who has a son with autism, did not tolerate that youtubers have made fun of a genetic disorder.

“While many families struggle to support their children with different abilities or with some medical condition, there are still many people who continue to make fun of them and laugh at them, enough talking crazy!” , wrote Alcántara on her official Instagram account alongside the hashtag “Respect” and “Inclusion”.

With this, the national artist makes it clear that he changed his mind regarding Ricardo Mendoza, whom he described in the past as a “great comedian”. And despite the public apologies that the comedian gave for mocking a case of sexual assault, he is once again the target of criticism for his unwise comments.

THE JOKE THAT SPARKED THE CONTROVERSY

During a face-to-face show, Jorge Luna started talking about the 2022 Futsal Down World Cup, which he didn't know until then. While explaining what this tournament consisted of, he released a couple of hints that caught the attention of the public. “I'm not a big fan of Down football, I haven't followed it, I don't know who its stars are, who are its different ones,” said Jorge Luna, causing the audience to laugh.

The thing didn't stop there because Ricardo Mendoza couldn't think of a better idea than to add another mockery. “What has come to me the most is that they didn't understand the joke, it came late,” he said. This generated the laughter of the attendees, who immediately understood the double meaning of his words.

WAVE OF OUTRAGE

The Hablando Huevadas duo's jokes about people with Down syndrome quickly went viral on social media. The first to explode against youtubers was Juliana Oxenford. “This is not talking crazy, this is being a couple of horns...” he wrote on his Twitter account. After that, he criticized them on his newscast.

The Down Peru Collective also raised its voice of protest “in the face of any kind of mockery and/or discrimination against people with down syndrome and their families.” Through a statement, they expressed their total rejection of “the offensive and discriminatory words expressed in the stand-up comedy show Hablando Huevad*s, directed by Jorge Luna and Ricardo Mendoza”.

Under the hashtag #NoEsBromaEsDiscriminación, the Ministry of Women and Vulnerable Populations spoke out on the latest controversy of Hablando Huevadas. The institution assured that “there is no grace” nor is it a “joke” every time it makes fun of people with disabilities, since “we are taking a step towards discrimination, which is a crime”.

“Should humor be mockery? There is no grace in exacerbating prejudices and stereotypes about people with disabilities. Every time we laugh at a “joke” about people with Down syndrome, we are taking a step towards discrimination, which is a crime,” MIMP tweeted.
